A Message from Our Principal

Dear General Ray Davis Middle School Families,

I am honored to begin this new school year as the proud principal of General Ray Davis Middle School (GRDMS). The middle school principalship affords me the opportunity to support and work collaboratively with our teachers, while building bridges with our students and championing their growth. I am optimistic and count it a privilege to be a part of such a pivotal time in our students’ lives.

Everyone at GRDMS is looking forward to a productive and rewarding 2023-2024 school year. This year our theme is “Building Bridges – Together We Are Stronger.” Our teachers and I look forward to building and supporting our students’ efforts; and encourage and welcome you to be a part of this journey.

I passionately believe in operating in a spirit of excellence and that every child can excel. GRDMS is a conduit for our students to be guided and affirmed to not just envision, but work to realize their full potential, as they define and shape their futures. High expectations, which have been established by our qualified and dedicated staff, will be maintained and anchored in providing a safe and nurturing school community that fosters respect and a spirit of excellence.

By bridging home-to-school connections forges a partnership and builds confidence in students to tap into their potential. Working with active and involved parents that help to make GRDMS a wonderful place for our students to learn and grow is paramount. to become a member of the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and Local School Council. Volunteering and participating in various events throughout the school year will also benefit not only your child, but all children of GRDMS.

The 2023-2024 school year will mark my 24th year as an educator. I am a proud graduate of Florida A & M University, where I earned both my bachelor’s degree in psychology and Master of Education degrees. Furthering my knowledge, I studied leadership at Mercer University and earned my Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Argosy University. I have served schools in under-resourced and resource-rich communities. My career as an educator encompasses the roles of elementary classroom teacher, K-5 gifted program teacher, Math Instructional Coach, elementary school Assistant Principal and Principal, middle school Assistant Principal, and now middle school Principal.

My husband, Frederick, and I have celebrated 16 years of courting and marriage, and we faithfully serve our beloved church family.

Honoring the legacy of the past, celebrating our current accomplishments, and acknowledging the quest ahead, I have a renewed zeal for this calling to serve and build upon our strengths as a school community.

Please know that I am always available to discuss ideas, questions, or concerns related to serving the children and community of GRDMS. Everyone at GRDMS is looking forward to a productive and rewarding 2023-2024 school year. This year our theme is “Building Bridges – Together We Are Stronger.” We welcome you to be a part of this journey.

With Eagle Pride,
